Depaving for the Village…

We successfully broke up about 100 square feet of concrete at two Village Building Convergence sites on Friday here in
Portland, Oregon. At the same time, we taught concrete breaking skills to some great volunteers and had a fine time!

At Clara Vista, an apartment complex operated by the (non-profit) Hacienda CDC , we worked with residents and volunteers to remove concrete to allow the planting of trees in their courtyard.
At the Yoga Union site, we removed about 60 square feet of concrete along the sidewalk to allow for the planting of street trees and other vegetation.
