Get Involved

Check out this list of our current and planned activities and see if there is something you would like to take on (as a project leader or as a helper ). We could also definitely use someone with graphic design or web programming skills!

- Update website with inspiring before/after photos and stories of depaving
- Organize a household-based publicity campaign to promote depaving
- Organize two hands-on training workshops
- Organize at least one high-profile pavement removal project
- Organize an annual Tour de Pave bicycle ride of sites in Portland where concrete or asphalt have been removed or could be removed
- Produce and sell depave t-shirts and stickers
- Write letters and op-eds to the editor of national publications about benefits of depaving. Get published!!
- Lobby to eliminate minimum parking requirements for new developments
- Table at Earth Day and other environmental festivals
- Monitor the planning and design of public and private projects and advocate for the minimization of impervious surfaces
- Lobby Mayor and City Council about benefits of depaving
- Design and produce visual educational materials
