Come rip up pavement at Kelly Elementary School to help make way for a more inviting space! Kelly Elementary is an English and Russian Immersion school located in the Lents neighborhood, close to Johnson Creek.
“Kelly Elementary’s playground is in desperate need of an upgrade. The decades-old blacktop is cracked and faded. Whenever it rains, water builds up into the infamous ‘Lake Kelly,’ and makes it impossible for our kids to play and socialize. When the sun comes out, it’s brutally hot and unforgiving. These students need a play space that meets their needs, and brings nature into the learning experience. We are so excited to get rid of this unsightly and unusable paved area and replace it with something that the community can be proud of for generations to come.” – Jamie Dunphy, Vice President, Kelly Parent Teacher Association.
Depave is partnering with Kelly Elementary School and the Kelly Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA). This project is being conducted with support from East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District (EMSWCD), ROSE Community Development, and Prosper Portland. Thank you!
