St. Mary Ethiopian Church Fundraising Dinner
An authentic Ethiopian dinner… need we say more?
The St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Church invites you to a traditional Ethiopian dinner on Saturday, June 1st to raise money for the Church’s planned parking lot retrofit, which will help solve the Church’s long-standing flooding issues and improve water quality in nearby Johnson Creek.
What: A Traditional Ethiopian Dinner.
When: Saturday, June 1st at 5pm. There will be a short after-dinner program with Church trustees and project partners presenting a project overview.
Where: St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Church (7715 SE 92nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97266). Additional parking available on SE Flavel Street, east of 92nd Avenue.
Cost: $10 per person paid at the door; additional donations gratefully accepted. Please RSVP via email to Tadele Galegay (abtadele@yahoo.com)
Unable to attend but still want to support the project? You can help us reach our fundraising goal of $2,000 by mailing a check to: St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Church; 7715 SE 92ND Ave. Portland, OR 97266. Join Depave, Tualatin Riverkeepers, and Portland Community College to kick of the 2013 depaving season!
We’ll be starting at 10am and working until about 2pm.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Depave will provide volunteers with all the necessary tools, safety gear, snacks and lunch.
Volunteers are encouraged to come early while it’s cool – orientation is at 9:45. However, all are welcome to come at any time during the day and stay for as long/short as desired.
Due to the physical nature of asphalt removal, volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants and clothing appropriate for tough work. Closed-toe shoes are required to depave – NO EXCEPTIONS.
For groups over 5, please RSVP here.
See you there!

NOTE: MAY SITE PLANNING MEETING CANCELLED. NEXT MEETING IS ON JUNE 24TH.
All are welcome at our Site Planning Team meeting (usually) on the fourth Monday every month.
This is where the prybars meet the parking lot, so come on over and learn about all that’s involved with depaving – from site selection to landscaping and everything in between. We love meeting new depavers here, so don’t be shy!
Call Michelle at the above number if you can’t find us when you get there!
