Boise-Eliot/Humboldt School Depaving Work Party

September 22 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Share

Join Depave and partners as we rip up pavement and make way for a soft play space and vegetated area at Boise-Eliot/Humboldt School. This project will contribute to clean water by reducing stormwater runoff. It will also enhance the everyday experiences of hundreds of schoolchildren and neighbors who rely on the schoolyard as a recreational space and park.

“I’m excited about this project because when I asked (former) Principal Kevin Bacon what the school needed, he immediately replied a place for kids to play where they weren’t at risk of scraped knees. It’s also much better for the kids to look outside their classrooms and see greenery instead of asphalt. Studies say they’ll better retain what they’re being taught.” – Andrew Land, parent of a Boise-Eliot/Humboldt Elementary School second grader
