Depave joined forces with AC Portland and the St. Johns community to chop it up at James John Elementary School. This depaving clears the way for a soft-surface play and seating area around a new turf soccer field. Depaving was funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Small Grant Program and the new soccer field was made possible by Adidas and The Timbers Army. Many thanks to Convergence Architecture, Portland Public Schools, the James John PTA, and the St. Johns Mainstreet Coalition for their help with the project and dedication to the future students of James John.
