This year Depave completed our Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church project in the NE Portland neighborhood of Cully! In partnership with Depave, this historic Black congregational church has transformed their 18,000 square foot parking lot behind the church building into an incredible greenspace with nature play areas for kids, a food garden with fruit trees, over 30 trees, shade structures and sitting areas, a meditation garden and more! This space will also become a community resiliency hub. Watch the space transform from the second depaving event in 2024 - this summer's grand opening in spring 2025!

NASA DEVELOP PARTNERSHIP
In summer 2023, Depave partnered with NASA DEVELOP to better understand the impact of our work. Overwhelmingly, satellite imagery showed that depaving can significantly reduce urban heat.
