2025 Crew Leader Training

Support the work of Depave by becoming a volunteer Crew Leader! Attend the 2025 training to become qualified to help lead Depave events and help with outreach!

Crew Leader’s help to manage other volunteers during Depave’s planting and depaving work parties and play a vital role in ensuring safety and positive times during our events! This is a volunteer opportunity with opportunities for attending other professional development trainings.

Qualities of a great Crew Leader:
•At least 18-years old
•Can lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly (tools, wheelbarrows, plants, etc.) Lighter tasks available!
•Commitment to Depave’s mission and volunteerism
•Outgoing and enjoys working with a wide variety of people
•Energized by working as a part of a team to accomplish a challenging goal
•Flexible, adaptable, and an intuitive leader
•Passionate about creating safe, welcoming, and empowering environments where folks can feel comfortable challenging themselves and learning about Depave.
•Arrives early (9am) to help with event set up and/or stay late (~2pm) to help with wrap up

In order to become a Crew Leader, volunteers are expected to commit to attend one general orientation session and co-lead at least 2 depaving or planting work parties during the summer – fall depaving season.
